Expansion of ESA’s SIMULUS framework to support complex, multi-asset mission scenarios involving simultaneous human and robotic actors. A pioneering architecture for coordinating orbiters, rovers, and crews within a unified, high-fidelity operational environment.

Innovation

We engineered the architectural extensions required for multi-asset coordination, allowing orbiters, rovers, and human crews to interact within a unified environment. By merging innovation in distributed simulation with strict SMP2 compliance, we helped establish the baseline for the future “digital twins” that will power human and robotic exploration of the Moon and Mars.

The installation of the MMF at ESA ESTEC’s central cleanroom in 2017 is a testament to EMTECH’s technical excellence. Creation of advanced, high-fidelity operational simulators for three critical ESA Earth Observation missions using the ESA/ESOC SIMULUS framework. Our multiple spacecraft subsystem models ensure mission readiness, operational validation, and long-term stability.

Instead of isolated solutions, we designed a unified, reusable simulator architecture. By balancing development flexibility with strict adherence to ESA standards, we significantly reduced preparation time and lifecycle costs for our client, TERMA.

Space Rider Mission (OPSIM &MMU)
