Hellenic Earth Large-scale Environment Observation Mission

As a cornerstone of the Greek National Satellite Space Project, the HELEO mission establishes a sovereign, high-performance capability for the country. This constellation of seven microsatellites combines multispectral and hyperspectral imaging with advanced AI to deliver rapid, actionable data. EMTECH’s role is pivotal in bridging the gap between high-level mission requirements and orbital reality.

Emtech introduces disruptive innovation through AI-driven onboard applications. By designing intelligent protocols for change detection and automated vessel identification, we enable “tip-and-cue” operations—where satellites autonomously coordinate to capture higher-resolution imagery. Our contribution ensures the constellation processes intelligence in near real-time via inter-satellite links.

Validated Precision

Leveraging our specialized ADCS Verification Facility, we ensure the sub-degree pointing accuracy required for HELEO’s high-resolution sensors. Utilizing three-axis Helmholtz coils and air-bearing systems, EMTECH validates critical attitude control modes. This expertise, rooted in ESA’s THOR mission, guarantees that the spacecraft’s magnetic signature does not interfere with its control logic.

Institutional Integrity

Beyond software and hardware testing, EMTECH accelerates the program through Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Knowledge Transfer. By providing a rigorous V&V framework and Functional Engineering Simulations, we ensure the constellation operates with institutional reliability while maintaining the agility of the New Space era.
