EOSat is a satellite tracking application. This Privacy Policy explains what data the app accesses, how it is used, and how it is stored. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.

Data We Collect and How We Use It

Location Data

EOSat requests access to your device's location to:

• Calculate satellite pass predictions for your position
• Show your location on the map
• Provide accurate compass and AR sky pointing

Your location data is processed entirely on your device. It is not transmitted to any external server, except that your last known coordinates are stored locally on your device so that background pass notifications can be calculated without requiring a live GPS fix.

Camera Access

EOSat requests access to your device's rear camera solely for the AR Sky View feature, which overlays satellite positions on a live camera preview. No images or video are captured, recorded, or transmitted. The camera feed is used only for real-time display.

Sensor Data

EOSat uses your device's accelerometer, gyroscope, and compass sensors to determine device orientation for the compass dome and AR sky view. This data is processed in real time on your device and is not stored or transmitted.

Network Data

EOSat connects to the following third-party services to retrieve satellite orbital data (TLE):

• CelesTrak (celestrak.org) — Public satellite catalog. No authentication required. No personal data is sent.
• Space-Track (space-track.org) — Optional. If you choose to use Space-Track, you provide your own Space-Track account credentials. These credentials are stored securely on your device using encrypted storage and are sent only to Space-Track's servers for authentication. We do not have access to your Space-Track credentials.

Locally Stored Data

EOSat stores the following data on your device using local storage:

• Favorite and tracked satellites
• Custom imported TLE data
• App settings and preferences (notification lead time, etc.)
• Cached satellite data (to reduce network requests)

This data never leaves your device.

Notifications

EOSat uses local notifications to alert you about upcoming satellite passes. Notifications are scheduled and triggered entirely on your device. No notification data is sent to external servers.

Data We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect personal information (name, email, phone number)
• We do not collect analytics or usage data
• We do not use advertising SDKs or tracking frameworks
• We do not create user accounts or profiles
• We do not transmit your location to any server
• We do not share any data with third parties
• We do not capture or store images or video

Data Retention

All app data is stored locally on your device. Uninstalling the app removes all stored data. There is no server-side data to delete.

Children's Privacy

EOSat does not knowingly collect any personal data from children under 13. The app does not require account creation or collect any personal information from any user.

Third-Party Services

EOSat displays in-app promotional banners for EMTech Space and partner services. Tapping a banner opens the linked website in your external browser. No tracking or analytics are involved in ad display or interaction.

The app uses the following third-party data sources:

Security

• Space-Track credentials are stored using platform-native encrypted storage (Android Keystore / iOS Keychain)
• All network requests use HTTPS
• No data is transmitted to our servers — we do not operate any backend

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the "Effective Date" above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
